Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication (CPTSC)

From all of us at CPTSC, to our colleagues in composition, rhetoric, and writing studies:

The de-chartering of the Conference on College Composition and Communication has landed hard. CCCC was an intellectual home where teachers, scholars, and students found belonging and did the quiet labor that holds a field together. To lose it is a real grief.

Many of us at CPTSC belong to both communities; technical and scientific communication has always been kin to writing studies. So this loss is ours too.

We feel the vulnerability it exposes—especially for graduate students, contingent colleagues, and early-career scholars whose work and futures were bound up in these spaces, and whose labor too often goes unseen and undervalued.

And yet a field is not its charter. It is its people. Those people are still here, already gathering and imagining what comes next.

To everyone hurting right now, please know that you are not alone. We are with you.
