The Modern Language Association and Conference on College Composition and Communication convened a joint task force (co-chairs Holly Hassel and Elizabeth Mathews Losh) in 2023 and 2024 to develop resources, guidelines, and professional standards (Backup: Internet Archive) around the use of AI and writing. In 2025, CCCC convened a Special Committee on Generative AI in College Composition that is currently charged through March 2028.
